The Quality Assurance Manager maintains effective quality assurance and control procedures with regard to product and material quality to ensure that the quality requirements of the customer are effectively met.

 

Responsibilities as Quality Assurance Manager:
  • Ensuring that the quality assurance and control systems are implemented, maintained and improved in order to assure the quality of products as per required standards.
  • Maintaining the raw material and product quality assurance processes or indicators and taking appropriate action to ensure that required quality standards are maintained through the process to prevent the recurrence of similar issues.
  • Setting appropriate quality standards and tolerances (within acceptable limits) with regard to raw material and production quality so as to exceed customer expectations in the most effective manner.
  • Monitoring the conduct of all audits, and implementing, maintaining, reviewing and improving all quality assurance and control systems or processes to ensure that the product and process are in compliance with the customer requirements.
  • Liaising with other relevant personnel including customers and suppliers, Sub contractors making decisions on all product quality issues including non-conformity taking into account customer standards, requirements, plant capability, standards and commercial acceptability, and implementing the systems.
  • Ensuring that all relevant information and records are maintained in accordance with the required standards to support decision making on quality and reference. Information includes the following:
  • Carrying out and following-up pre-production activities, to resolve technical and quality issues before a style is introduced to a module and thereby facilitating a smooth production flow.
  • Communicating all the quality-related decisions and issues effectively to all relevant internal and external parties, (customers and suppliers) to assure the consistency of standards and providing quality related information to the required persons and the management to facilitate decision making.
  • Developing skills and knowledge of all subordinates and creating quality awareness in all employees to enhance their capabilities and to meet organizational and customer requirements.
  • Ensuring the maintenance of positive work relationships to facilitate smooth operations whilst complying with the organizational standards.
  • Ensuring that safety procedures are adopted.
  • Adhering to ISO 9000, buyer’s compliance, 5S practice and any other international standards adopted by the company.
 
Job profile:
  • 8+ years’ progressive experience in Quality Assurance
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
  • Certification of quality control is a strong advantage (ISO 9000 etc.)
  • General familiarity with the apparel industry preferred
  • Experience in a textile or manufacturing facility is a plus
