The proposal assistant RFx writer is responsible for working with the lead proposal writer to ensure our clients’ proposals are best in class and are in alignment with our client’s brand standards and strategy.

The Role

Catalytique Consulting is actively seeking a Proposal Assistant RFx Writer to join their team. 

The proposal assistant RFx writer is responsible for working with the lead proposal writer to ensure our clients’ proposals are best in class and are in alignment with our client’s brand standards and strategy. 

You will be assisting and supporting the full life cycle of proposal development, including; RFx planning, content coordination and management, writing, graphics coordination, formatting and on-time delivery of proposal submissions. 

This is a contract position, which will auto-renew every three months, based on job performance and client demand. 

Once you are fully trained and onboarded, you will be working from home mostly, coming into the office once or twice a week for face to face meetings and planning. It is therefore imperative that you have a reliable internet connection that is good enough for video calls and screen sharing, and that you have a suitable distraction-free ‘work from home’ environment. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop a sound knowledge and understanding of our clients’ business, the markets they operate in and the technology products they produce and/or sell, and keep up with change as their business and products evolve
  • Assist with analyzing RFx requirements, creating submission checklists, drafting RFx compliance matrices, and formulating positioning strategies
  • Get RFx submissions to draft as quickly as possible using answers from RFx content libraries, while ensuring accuracy
  • Assist with coordinating writing and review assignments with expert contributors and key client stakeholders
  • Write, proofread, and shape proposal answers in the best possible light toaddress RFx requirements
  • Create templates, assist with graphics, and take responsibility for the formatting and final proposal layout while adhering to the clients’ brand guidelines 
  • Assist with the coordination, design, layout, content and production of assigned collateral materials and RFx supporting documentation
  • Assist with managing and keeping up to date RFx knowledge libraries, content, and collateral
  • Assist with client and market research projects
  • Assist with any other activities required to generate a highly structured, responsive proposal within assigned deadlines

 

Qualifications and Experience

Before applying for this role, you should comply with the following minimum requirements: 

  • A bachelor’s degree in English, journalism, communications, marketing, information systems or information technology or a related field
  • 3+ years as technical writer, business writer, product marketing writer, and/or RFP response role with a software or ICT company

The following are not essential but would be advantageous: 

  • 2+ years of proposal management experience supporting RFx opportunities
  • 2+ years managing and curating B2B collateral and content
  • 2+ years creating thematic graphics and designing document layouts
  • Experience working with proposal automation and management systems

 

Key Skills

  • Excellent command of the English language and ability to write, proofread and edit at an international standard for a global audience
  • Outstanding writing skills with the ability to convey complex technology concepts in a manner that is accurate, clear, and concise, in a highly readable, customer-focused format
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong editing and proofreading skills
  • Ability to leverage existing documentation and synthesize technical discussions to deliver effective written and graphic customer responses
  • Strong organizational, prioritization and time management skills along with keen attention to detail
  • Advanced Word and PowerPoint skills, where you will be required to create and work with themes, styles and design layouts to ensure formatting is always well managed and on brand
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills, where you will be required to work with and create pivot tables and formulas
  • Working knowledge of SharePoint Online, where you will be required to assist with managing RFx content
  • Basic to intermediate graphic design skills. Proficiency in the use of Adobe Creative Cloud applications such as Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign and Adobe Acrobat would be an asset.
