We are currently looking for an experienced and well organised Procurement Officer.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Participates in the procurement of materials and equipment.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing and other important data.
  • Communicates and determines scheduling with suppliers for pricing, order fulfilment and delivery.
  • Create and maintain a good portfolio of clients with relevant details.
  • Review quotations, analyse and make comparative prices of materials and equipment of different suppliers.
  • Ability to negotiate the best deal for pricing with suppliers.
  • Verify purchase requisition and prepare purchase order as per set standards.
  • Ensure that products and supplies conforms to the requirements prior to purchase.
  • Request samples and verify quality of products where applicable before proceeding with purchase.
  • Cancel orders upon request by ensuring proper practises are respected. 
  • Monitor supplies order and ensure close follow up as till delivery.
  • Check and inspect incoming materials with suppliers and track discrepancies.
  • Create and maintain inventory of all incoming materials and also current supplies.
  • Research, identify and recommend potential suppliers.
  • Follow up of payment with concerned department and keep records of all transactions.
  • Any other duties related to purchasing and procurement.

Qualifications and experience

  • HSC, Certificate or Diploma in Purchasing/Procurement, any relevant qualifications related to post.
  • A minimum of 3 years hands on work experience preferably in construction sector.
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of procurement processes, etc.
  • Excellent communication skills - verbal and written in English and French.
  • Excellent negotiation and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision in a fast paced environment.
  • Excellent with numbers, price calculations.
  • Good knowledge of MS office.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritise and time management.
