Our client, in the production and distribution sector, is looking for a PLC Technician.
Our client, in the production and distribution sector, is looking for a PLC Technician.
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible to maintain, repair and install electrical instrumentation and control equipment throughout the factory as part of a shift team.
Main responsibilities:
- Carry out fault finding and repair on PLC equipment, using PLC Programs and other fault-finding instruments.
- Carry out fault finding and repair on factory based PC equipment, using proprietary fault-finding systems
- Carry out fault finding and repair on factory instrumentation; e.g. chart recorders, temperature probes, pressure sensors, meters, etc.
- Carry our installation of new PC, PLC, instrumentation projects under the direction of the Senior Electrical/Instrument Technician/Manager.
- Carry out fault finding and repair on other electronic equipment installed within the factory e.g. printers, check weighing equipment, metal detection equipment, weigh scales, etc.
- When required, carry out fault finding, repair and installation of other electrical/electronic systems, as required by the Shift Engineer.
- When required can be transferred to any other area & domain of Engineering to support other teams on issues or projects.
- Strictly abide to procedures and policies in place.
- Contribute to ensure that the working area is maintained in a clean, hygienic and safe condition.
- Undertake any other duty as per line management request and operational needs.
Qualification:
- Engineering certificate in Electrical/Electronic discipline with 2 years’ experience or Higher Diploma in Electrical instrumentation with more than 2 years’ experience.
- Minimum 2/3 years’ experience as an industrial PLC/Instrument Technician
Candidate profile:
- Relevant Trade test passed, specific PLC and/or PC training
- Main and Back-up electrical power supply system understanding
