PHP Developer

Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer and/or the eCommerce & Digital Marketing Manager, your role is to deliver and support innovative Web and CMS solutions using API first strategy, Open Source platforms and OOPS & MVC PHP frameworks (predominantly CodeIgniter & Symfony Framework).

Role & Responsibilities

• Ensure new developments are fully specified to deliver to client requirements
• Work closely with Project Managers and the eCommerce & Digital Marketing Manager to define and estimate the technical scope of each projects
• Employ mature work estimation processes to enable projects to be delivered on time and on budget
• Keep up to date with the industry best practices and technological updates and share new knowledge to improve processes, technology and results
• Ensure all development works are fully documented with accompanying Client User Guides and support documentation
• Use analytical skills to identify and resolve coding, development and/or process issues

 Technical Skills

• Fluent in API, PHP, MySQL, HTML, CSS, Javascript, JQuery, Angular Js, Bootstrap and Node. Knowledge of Github, Python and Ruby on Rail would be a plus
• Basic proficiency in Linux administration, Apache configuration, MySQL database design and PHP web development
• Knowledge of Agile software development methodologies
• Experience in integrating Open Source or third-party applications into existing systems such as Sabre API, XML Connectors etc…
• Proficiency in hand-coded W3C compliant Javascript, HTML & CSS and UI/UX

Personal Skills

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (French & English)
• Strong sense of responsibility and initiative
• Minimum 2-3 years of experience in the field with proven track record
