- Studied Up to School Certificate; - Recognised Certicate in Paint Mixing, Colour Matching, Spraying Methods, Paint Testing and Polish Matching and Application;

 

Profile:

  • Studied upto at least Form III
  • Recognized Certificate in Paint Mixing, Colour Matching, Spraying Methods, Paint Testing, and Polish Matching and Application
  • 1-3 years working experience
  • Computer literacy will be a definite advantage
  • Equivalent qualifications will also be considered

 

Job Description:

To be responsible to the Body and Paint Manager more especially to perform:

 

1)      Colour Matching methods

  • Recognizing colours,
  • Making of test pieces with rod application or on metal plates,
  • Using the mixing banks,
  • Keeping all containers clean,
  • Keeping stock of colours and other consumables.

       

2)      Surface Preparation

  • Be able to work with Primer, Putty and surfacer,
  • Apply Body sealer,

 

3)      Masking Method

  • Masking Equipment and materials,
  • Masking paper, Vinyl sheets, Special Covers and shading,
  • Borders for masking,
  • Cleaning and degreasing.

 

4)      Spraying Methods

  • Purpose of Spraying (Protection + Aesthetic effect + Identification),
  • Drying processes and Top Coat,
  • Knowledge of Pigments, Resins and additives,
  • Solvents, Thinners, Hardeners etc,
  • Preparation for Top Coating and checking for defects and colour adjustments,

 

5)      Polishing Methods

  • Drying equipment, Air Dryers, Forced Dryers and drying times,
  • Wetstone, Sandpaper, Buffer Compound, Polishers, Flannel Rags etc,
  • Check the paint Drying time, paint Texture,
  • Checking for Runs and seeds,
  • Polishing with Buffing compounds,
  • Check quality finish after final washing.

 

6)      Safety Equipments and Safety Items

  • Keep in order Goggles, Mask, Dust filters, Gloves, Solvent resistant gloves and shoes, and other protective equipment
  • Use and maintain tools and equipment of the  trade
  • Inform the Responsible Officer of any problem encountered;
  • To perform any other relevant duties that may be assigned to him/her.
