Vuna Capital Trustees (Mauritius) Ltd are looking to recruit for the Position of Money Laundering Reporting Officer MLRO The starting date: 1st October 2020

 

The MLRO is responsible for ensuring that, when appropriate, the information or other matter leading to knowledge or suspicion, or reasonable grounds for knowledge or suspicion of money laundering is properly disclosed to the relevant authority.

The decision to report, or not to report, must not be subject to the consent of anyone else.

The MLRO will also liaise with FIU or law enforcement on the issue of whether to proceed with a transaction or what information may be disclosed to clients or third parties.

The size and nature of some businesses may lead to the MLRO delegating certain duties regarding the business's anti money laundering/counter terrorist financing obligations. Delegation does not relieve the MLRO of responsibility. The reporting channels should be well known to all relevant employees. The MLRO is also responsible for Compliance Training within the organisation. Compliance training is employee training mandated by legislation, regulation or policy. It educates the employees on the laws or regulations applicable to their job function or industry. It also helps to minimize risk, maintain the organisation’s reputation and provides a better environment for the employees to work in benefiting productivity in the long run.

 

The candidate for this position will need to provide proof of the following qualifications and experience:

•Professional qualification in compliance and/or a master’s degree in the relevant field

•Familiarity with legislation and regulatory framework relevant to the real estate sector

•Proven experience of at least 5 years operating in similar capacity and/or in senior management team and having previously been approved by the FSC;

•Ability to work independently, under pressure and influence teams;

•Confident and ambitious person who can assist senior management in decision

making;

•Strong analytical skills and efficient planning skills;

•Ethical, principled, and willing to take the lead in setting the tone for corporate integrity

•Must be fluent in English and French in both written and spoken and excellent written

and verbal communication skills with internal stakeholders and regulatory authorities

•Treat confidential files with complete discretion.

 

Conditions of work:

  • As from 9:15am-5:30pm
  • Monthly job salary range (MUR): 41,000-60,000
