The Logistics Coordinator shall be responsible for coordinating all logistics involved in the safe and legal import of orders placed for contracts.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

The scope of works has been broadly defined but not limited to the following:-

  • Assist SPO & Lead Staff – Tender Division with logistics component involved in tender estimates.
  • Maintain a library of Logistics Parameters including Freight / Inland Transport Rates
  • Assist SPO & Lead Staff – Major Local & Foreign Purchases Division with Logistics requirement for Import of Materials including optimisation of costs.
  • Prepare Packing Estimates.
  • Prepare RFQ for Freight and Local Transport components, Perform Analysis and submit recommendation for Appointment of Freight & Forwarding Agent / Service Providers.
  • Ensure that all Permits / Licenses / Marine Cargo Insurance Cover / Duty Free Certificates or Bank Guarantees are obtained by the relevant authorities prior to any order is confirmed or dispatched.
  • Ensure Timely delivery of Consignments and flag any issues which might arise leading to delays in delivery.
  • Make recommendations on alternative freight options / routing with the aim of reducing transit time.
  • Assist Lead Staff – Major Local & Foreign Purchases with the Verification of Draft Shipping Documents.
  • Liaison with Custom Brooker and Transport Company for Custom Clearance of goods.
  • Assist Head Store Keeper & Site Store Keepers with the details packing list and delivery of materials on site.
  • Ensure that all documents are received and filing is updated.
  • Verify claims from Freight & Forwarding Agent & Custom Broker and prepare Purchase Requisitions accordingly. This must with verified in conjunction with the allowable and update report on any adjustment in the net saving.
  • Assist Lead Staff – Major Local & Foreign Purchases with the Reporting of Monthly Claim for Materials On Site (MOS).

 

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Min. HSC with Mathematics at “A” Level
  • Certificate or Diploma in Logistics/ Supply Chain Management
  • 2 years in Logistics or in Freight and Forwarding Firm
  • Computer Literate
  • Good Communication Skills (Written & Spoken)
  • Knowledge of construction Materials
  • Valid Driving License
