The Junior Accountant supports the finance department by performing daily accounting tasks, maintaining financial records, and ensuring accurate reporting. The incumbent will also support bank reconciliations and expense tracking.
Key Responsibilities:
- Record daily financial transactions and maintain accurate general ledger entries.
- Reconcile daily revenue against cash, credit card, juice payments and transfer receipts, and investigate discrepancies.
- Reconcile bank statements, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Process invoices, payments, and expense reports.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date supplier accounts, ensure timely reconciliation of statements, and address discrepancies to support smooth vendor relationships.
- Prepare journal entries and support accruals.
- Maintain inventory and cost accounting records (e.g., golf shop merchandise, food & beverage stock).
- Participate in monthly and ad-hoc stock counts.
- Assist with payroll processing and employee reimbursements.
- Prepare and post customer invoices for F&B events and credit clients, ensure timely collection and accurate reconciliation of outstanding balances.
- Ensure all accounting practices within the F&B department comply with Group policies and internal controls practices.
- Support financial audits and provide documentation as needed.
- Help generate financial reports for management (Profit & loss statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements).
- Collaborate with operations teams (e.g., golf course management, pro shop, F&B) to ensure proper financial controls.
Any other assignments as may be designated to you.
College/University Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 1–2 years of accounting experience (internship or entry-level role preferred).
- Basic understanding of accounting principles.
Competencies required:
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and reporting skills.
Relevant Experience:
- 1+ years in accounting, preferably in hospitality or F&B environments.
- Experience with accounting systems and reporting tools.
- Familiarity wirth point-of-sales (POS) systems and inventory management.
- Knowledge of budgeting and financial analysis.
