Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, will work closely with the HR Manager in providing support in the various human resources and functions, which include HR general administrations, recruitment, training and development, performance monitoring and employee relations.

TROPIC Group has business units in Mauritius, Madagascar, and India. We are currently recruiting a Human Resources Officer to join TROPIC team.

What you will be doing:

  1. Responsible for on-time and accurate update of HR systems (including time and attendance)
  2. Assist with the recruitment process by identifying candidates, conducting reference checks and issuing employment contracts
  3.  Ensure the successful integration of employees through a proper induction process
  4. Manage Medical Insurance Scheme
  5. Assist in the conduct of performance appraisal review exercise and ensure that appraisals are organised within set deadline and as per company’s procedure
  6. Ensure proper follow-up with MQA & HRDC for refund of courses
  7. Act as a point of contact between Management and employees and assist in maintaining good employee relations
  8. Counsels and assist Managers, Team Leaders and employees in work related matters
  9. Prepare HR reports
  10. Assist in the conduct of training needs analysis and participate in the development and delivering of training projects in the organisation
  11. Organise welfare and CSR activities
  12. Assist in the HR General Administration

What are we looking for?

  • Diploma or a Degree in HR / Management Field.
  • At least 2 years of experience as an HR Assistant/Officer
  • Proven experience in business software such as Microsoft Office/ payroll software
  • Good understanding of Employment Laws
  • Efficient HR administration and people management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • A high level of confidentiality
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • The flexibility and willingness to learn
  • Attention to details
