The Head Mechanic is responsible to keep all the equipment in operable condition at all times.
Operations
Makes major and minor repairs on a variety of gasoline and diesel powered equipment.
Organize and maintain a clean service area and maintenance building
Inspect, adjust, diagnose, and repair mechanical defects in many types of golf course maintenance equipment.
Do mower grinding and sharpening
Do machine and welding, hydraulic system, high pressure pumps and valves
Do occasional automotive painting or body fender repairs work.
Record keeping. Should keep record of all service and maintenance done on specific equipment. Parts used and cost involve.
Prepare part list required to smoothly operate the whole fleet of equipment.
Report all disciplinary grievances to the Golf Course Superintendent and the Assistant Green keeper.
Ensure Occupational Safety and Health Act, local health and safety codes, and company safety and security policy are met
Ensure and maintain that Health and Safety practices are followed at all times
Proper use of chemicals, pesticides, materials and supplies.
Ensure that any breakdown of equipment and services are immediately reported and dealt with swiftly and efficiently.
Ensure that in the context of the operations, all standards of management for the environment and its related legislation are strictly observed.
