The Hardware Specialist’s job is to stream line the process of all hardware/software dealings with suppliers and clients, sometimes with the technical consultants as the intermediaries.

 

Job Description:

 

Gather hardware specifications from client/tech consultant

-       Client calls to request new laptop or printer – need to be able to get all specifications and client requirements to be able to prepare a quote with options to respond to needs;

-       Understand budget constraints;

-       Find out software requirements if specialized software is to be used;

 

Generate Quotes and follow up on sent quotes

-       Use the ServiQual systems to generate quotes for clients;

-       Ensure all quotes look professional and standardized as per ServiQual Standards eg picture sizes;

-       Always stay supplier agnostic, we do not work for suppliers, we work for our clients;

 

Supplier Relations and Pricing

-       Maintain professional relationships with all ServiQual current and future suppliers;

-       Optimize processes to obtain supplier prices and stock levels;

-       Develop a method to maintain supplier info incl. price in-house;

-       Be able to handle conflicts with suppliers and be able to negotiate prices;

 

Generate Purchase Orders, Item Collection and Item Receipt

-       Generate purchase orders within the ServiQual system with 100% accuracy on prices and products;

-       Arrange item collection – A car will be made available and/or organization within the team to collect from suppliers when available;

-       Receipt and log all items in the ServiQual system;

-       Register hardware that requires for additional warranty;

 

Item Pre-configuration

-       In collaboration with technical consultants;

 

Software Licensing

-       Manage all software license renewals;

 

After Sales Service

-       Manage all returns and repairs in collaboration with technical consultants, can include internal diagnosis and return to supplier;

-       Manage warranties for hardware returned to ServiQual;

-       Communicate with client and set expectations;

-       Follow up with suppliers on progress;

-       Organize for delivery with technical consultants.

 

Qualifications and experience:

- At least 5 years experience in a related position;

- Driving License;

- Bachelor Degree in a related field.
