HEALTH & SAFETY OFFICER (PART TIME BASIS)

We are looking for a responsible Safety & Health Officer on a part time basis to facilitate compliance with local Occupational Safety & Health legislations. You will provide advice on measures to minimize hazards or unhealthy situations. You will also be on a constant lookout for violations.

We are looking for a responsible Safety & Health Officer on a part time basis to facilitate compliance with local Occupational Safety & Health legislations. You will provide advice on measures to minimize hazards or unhealthy situations. You will also be on a constant lookout for violations. 
The ideal candidate will be a responsible individual who swears by OSH regulations. Your work will be largely focused on prevention so you need to be conscientious and farsighted. The ideal candidate will also be detail-oriented and ready to act in emergencies.
The goal is to establish a safe workplace according to legal standards and foster a culture of attention to health and safety.

As defined in the Occupational Safety & Health Act 2005 and not limited to the below:

• Advise on provisions to minimize safety risks
• Advise and instruct on various safety-related topics 
• Conduct risk assessment and enforce preventative measures
• Organize and conduct OSH training plans
• Collaborate with managers to monitor compliance and identify safety issues
• Liaise with and report to official regulatory bodies on OSH matters

REQUIREMENTS

• Proactive and dynamic
• A diploma or degree in Occupational Safety & Health 
• In depth knowledge of legislation (e.g. OSHA) and procedures
• Knowledge of potentially hazardous materials or practices
• Experience in writing reports and policies for health and safety
• Outstanding organisational skills
• Independent and a self-starter
• Diligent with great attention to detail
• Experience as a Safety and Health Officer in the BPO/ICT sector is desirable
• Good communication skills with the ability to present and explain health and safety topics
