HEALTH & SAFETY OFFICER

The Health and Safety Officer is responsible for monitoring and assessing hazardous and unsafe situations and developing measures to assure personnel safety.

The Health and Safety Officer is responsible for monitoring and assessing hazardous and unsafe situations and developing measures to assure personnel safety for the whole Group of SKC Surat Co Ltd.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

• Conducts frequent audits and inspections to ensure the effectiveness of Safety and Health programs on critical operations/equipment and procedures at assigned location present. Makes recommendations and practical measures for improvement and does the follow-up of their implementation. 
• Carry out risk assessments at intervals specified within OSHA 2005.
• Establish safety and health committees at intervals specified within OSHA 2005.
• Selection of suitable personal protective equipment required based on hazards to which employees are exposed.
• Design and implement Safety and Health training programs.
• Ensure that Safety and Health programs and procedures are communicated and understood by all employees.
• Ensure that compliance with OSHA 2005 and other relevant legislations is maintained.
• Investigates incidents involving personnel, plant and equipment. Analyses causes and determines future action to prevent these occurrences.
• Reports non-conformities immediately to the responsible manager.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATION

• Degree in Occupational Safety and Health or any equivalent qualification certified by the Tertiary Education Commission.
• Minimum 1 year of experience as registered Safety and Health Officer 
• Experience in training and coaching. 
• Good communication skills. 
• Proactive
• Holds a valid driving license
