Forklift Driver

Operate forklifts in a safe and efficient manner to load, unload, transport, and store materials within the production department. Ensure the proper handling of goods and materials, while maintaining timely and accurate delivery throughout the facility.

Key/Primary Responsibilities

• Safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment to load, unload, and transport raw materials (Bottles, Caps, Cartons, Crates, Pallets, Labels and any other raw material used for production, from the Raw Materials store to the production department.
• Safely operate forklifts to collect and transfer alcohol from Grays Distilling Ltd to the production Department.
• Accurately store materials in designated locations and ensuring proper organization.
• Ensure that all goods are handled with care to prevent damage and meet quality standards.
• Maintain a clean and organised work environment, including operating areas and storage spaces.
• Perform routine equipment checks and maintenance to ensure forklift and related equipment are in good working condition.
• Adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations, ensuring the safe operation of forklifts and compliance with company policies.
• Contribute to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of production operations.
• Report any equipment malfunctions, hazards, or safety concerns promptly to the production assistant supervisor.

Education & Competences

• Minimum Form 4
• knowledge of safety procedures related to driving forklift.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Valid Forklift licence with proven experience operating forklifts and other material handling equipment.
• Demonstrates agility in handling various duties and adapting to changing situations or challenges that may arise.
• Takes full ownership of assigned responsibilities, focusing on delivering high-quality results and maintaining high standards.
• Adheres to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all gardening operations to ensure consistency, safety, and quality standards are met.
