Provide leadership and overall management of the finance function within the country as well as support all other departments to ensure smooth operations. Responsible for managing the country budget in relation to revenue collection, cost control and profitability.

 

The Finance Manager will be responsible and accountable for all finance and accounts related matters; this includes but is not limited to the following:

  • Provide leadership and overall management of the finance function within the country as well as support all other departments to ensure smooth operations. Responsible for managing the country budget in relation to revenue collection, cost control and profitability.
  • Provide monthly financial reports to both Country and Group Management and ensure all statutory and operational financial requirements are met. The Finance and Accounts reports should be as per the requirements of management accounting, materials audit, financial control and administration demands.
  • Maintain complete double entry accounting system covering General Ledger and the required subsidiary ledgers of receivables, payables, inventory, cashbook, reporting, ordering e.t.c. while adhering to the Group’s accounting structures, policies and procedures as applicable to all areas of the business.
  • Understand, apply and comply with National Tax requirements including documentations, procedures, deductions, payments and declarations.
  • Meet all other applicable national statutory requirements such as national insurance, registrations and licensing at both national and local government levels.
  • Understand the business of the Group, the specifics of the contract with clients and the accounting/reporting requirements emanating from that.
  • Responsible for overseeing the country budget and developing cost control measures. Manage control of costs and general financial control and be the focal person at country level for the implementation of the “billing and collection” timelines.
  • Provide all accounting services such as payroll, petty cash and necessary fillings and keep custody of value books (cheques, invoices, receipts e.t.c.).
  • Have custody of petty cash and provide for an approval process that involves the managers of the user departments.
  • Work with Group Finance team to manage liquidity, banking relationship and borrowing and investment activities.
  • Oversee the capital expenditure process and ensure proper accounting and control over fixed assets at Country level
  • Be a one stop shop for Group Level finance staff in advancing the objectives of their respective roles including Management Accounting and Audit.
  • Manage Insurance of Assets hand in hand with country manager within the frame work of guidance provided by Group Finance.
  • Ensure the conduct of statutory Audit within required timelines.
  • Provide any other reports requested for decision making as required by local management.
  • Assist in formulation of Business Strategy at country level.
  • Ensure the smooth running of the Head Offices including the coordination of the necessary departmental activities i.e. Procurement, Finance, HR, HSE, Marketing, Project Operations amongst others.
  • Observe compliance to all Tsebo HR, health and safety policies and procedures within your area of operations.

Qualifications: 

  • Must be a Certified Accountant
  • Additional qualification either a Diploma or a Bachelors' degree in Accounting/Finance related field will be an added advantage.

Work Experience:

  • More than 5 years' experience required, with more than 3 years in Finance Management role or equivalent role.
