Ensure that customs declarations are prepared and validated according to Customs laws and regulations.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

- Ensure that customs declarations are prepared and validated according to Customs laws and regulations.

- Coordinate customs verification and assist Customs Authority for any request.

- Input Customs declarations, certificate of origin, EUR1 certificate & import/export permit on MNS system.

- Ensure that customs rules and regulations are adhered to during customs formalities.

- Request approval from local authorities including Ministries (as and when required).

- Follow up on work progress and carry out customs clearance formalities in a rapid and efficient manner.

- Advise customers/clients regarding customs requirements and clearing formalities.

- Keep abreast of customs regulations and legal provisions affecting the business.

- Submit regular statistics and reports to Management.

- Keep Customs Clearance supervisor informed at all times of any matters impeding smooth work operations.

 Profile & Qualifications

- Hsc Holder with a minimum of 7 years work experience in the Customs Clearance sector.

- Good technical knowledge of customs practice and procedures.

- Knowledge of the MNS system, Mauritius Cargo Community Services Ltd (MACCS) and the Customs Harmonized Systems Code (HSCode) are mandatory.

- Dynamic, Proactive and Customer Service oriented.

- Valid driving license for motorcycle and private car.

- Ready to work under pressure and able to effectively handle multiple priorities, organise workload.

- Any equivalent combination of education and experience.
