Contracts and Proposals Manager

 

 EPC Contractor
  • To ensure compliance with all legal requirements as per: Occupational Safety & Welfare Act 2005, Environment Protection Act 2002, MSB Standards and the Employment Rights Act as well as any relevant Engineering Standards/Norms. 
  • Assist in preparing Bills of Quantities, Schedule of Works, Specifications and all contract documentation, ensuring that these comply with the project brief and timescale, budget estimates, all relevant legislation, regulations and policies. Manage associated contractual issues, these will include, but not limited to:

 

  • Assessing competitive tenders received, making recommendations and reporting thereon
  • Determining the extent and value of work executed (building services and industrial) for interim payments to contractors
  • Assessing and settling contractors claims throughout the contracts
  • Providing professional feedback to Consultec’s Management  and other colleagues
  • Providing professional advice on contractual matters
  • Monitoring expenditure and providing financial statements and associated information
  • Agreeing final accounts with contractor and auditor and issuing Final Certificate.
  • Prepare contract documentation in a view to standardising all documentation with regards to contracts for Consultec.
  • Prepare preliminary estimates, cost plans, feasibility studies including advising clients on economical construction methods, procurement, programming and contract matters, to enable costs to be accurately advised to clients.
  • Assist General Manager with palling and scheduling new work and in dealing with incoming enquiries in order to provide best value and timely services to clients.
  • Assist with the introduction and development of information technology/management systems in order to optimise and improve working practices and procedures and assist in the training of others in the use of these systems.
  • Assist in a range of related duties that will contribute to the provision of a comprehensive quantity surveying service to customers, these will include, but not limited to:
  • Preparing fire insurance valuations
  • Cost in use studies and life cycle costing
  • Taxation allowances and grants
  • Litigation, arbitration and adjudication
  • Schedules of dilapidations and technical audits
  •   Project management and follow up including chairing of project meetings and reviews and preparation of minutes of meetings.
  •   Project coordination with suppliers, contractors and client and drafting of contractual documents

 

  • Help in the training of new recruits and existing staff
  •  Supervision of staff directly working on the projects assigned to you
  •   Personnel management motivation and training of your team members
  •  Team work planning and delivery on time. Keeping an excellent working relationship with all your colleagues and coordination with other departments involved on day to day work
  • Assist in site visits and surveys
  • Quality assurance and control. Work towards implementation of standard operating procedures of the Engineering (Industrial & building services) department and the Company at large.
  •  .  Correct recording of time sheets and cost monitoring. Participation in Company’s administration.
  •  Proposals:
  • . Receiving requests for proposals  
  •   Ensuring that the risks are assessed and advise on go/no go for project
  •   Vetting proposals from a contractual point 
  •   Document templates management with regards to RFP  
  •   Drive subject matter experts to produce winning content 
  •  Establish KPI with respect to proposals
  •  Professionalism and ethics by demonstrating awareness and application of qualities and competence covering knowledge, appropriate skills and behaviours. Ethics covers the conduct of moral principles recognised as appropriate within the project and programme management profession. 

 

Other

    1. Any other duties that may be assigned to you from time to time by your direct report in line with the requirements of your position and the Company.
    2. To travel from time to time, to visit our sister companies and clients for working sessions.
    3. To participate in the promotion of the Quality and Safety concept within the Group and to ensure compliance with all procedures put in place by Consultec.
