The Chief Security Officer is the leader of the corporate/physical security function for the Hotel, to include responsibility for overall security strategy. He ensures the smooth and efficient operation of the security team.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan, implement, organise and coordinate the smooth and efficient operation of the security team on a daily basis.
- Conduct frequent spot checks during day and night and report.
- Conduct daily Guards parade to ensure grooming standards.
- Responsible for planning, developing and implementing security plans, security programs such as Emergency response and crisis management, physical security, information protection, incident management and/or investigation.
- Establish / Maintain robust customer relationship to ensure complete understanding of customer processes to enable the delivery of viable security responses.
- Always keep the ‘First Impression’ impact at the Main Gate as per the standard.
- Manage the Main Gate access point effectively.
- Follow up personally on equipments leaving the Hotel premises to ensure prompt return to department concerned for protection of Company Assets.
- Serve as staff support to security management and assist in conducting investigations of significant threats and/or the loss or misappropriate of assets.
- Perform port- incident analysis and investigation relative to all incidents with hotel guests and employees and take statements as appropriate and report.
- Maintain an excellent working relationship with local police and assist them in any investigations.
- Assume overall responsibility for CCTV and access control system management and coordinate all maintenance as and when required.
- Issue and control all Master keys / access cards and ensure accurate records of all key movements.
- Watch for any suspicious person entering, exiting or loitering around the hotel.
- Promote safe work practices. Ensure compliance with OSHA standards and preventative measures.
- Ensure that all beach hawkers abide to the rules and regulations as per MOU of the Tourism Authority.
- Maintain knowledge of complex industry trends, current security issues and security technology and update management on risk and threat that could impact the hotel business.
- Provide leadership, advice and counsel to line management on security policy and practices.
- Be on call on a 24 hours * 7 days basis for any emergencies occurring at the hotel.
- Report major complaints to the Human Resources Manager.
- Represent the hotel in meetings/ seminars or any other related events linked to Security issues as and when required.
- Responsible for the roster of all security staffs as well as to handle any administrative or working issues concerning them.
- Personally assist in the search exercise of staff leaving the hotel at peak times.
- Conduct random spot checks in suppliers’ vehicles leaving the Hotel.
- Ensure visitors access in duly controlled with a Hotel Pass.
- Comply with the company corporate code of conduct at all times.
- Familiarise yourself with the company vision and values which link our model of desired behaviours that we expect all employees to display.
- Supervise and control all parking spaces of the hotel especially for large functions.
- Perform annual risk analysis particularly with respect to the level of theft and workplace violence at the hotel and submit to Management.
- Check on a daily basis the state of the Company vehicles & Report
- Analyse statistical data and reports to identify and determine how to make the hotel premises more secure and submit to Management.
- Ensure that Maritim Greeting standard is being adhered.
- Go the extra –mile to serve and impress the guests.
- Any other duties that may be assigned.
