Assist the Bar Manager on a daily basis in organising, planning, directing and controlling the assigned bar

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

 Promote the desired work culture around the five core values of Trust, Integrity, Respect, One Team and Service of the InterContinental Hotels Group and the brand ethos.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Responsible for preparing the bar area at the beginning of allocated shift by ensuring necessary stocks are maintained, coolers are running, all other accessories are procured from the stores thereby providing a quality, detail and smooth service at all times during the shift 
• Responsible for preparing various types of drinks, mixes/cocktails or any other special drinks as required by the guests keeping in mind the high quality standards and maintaining cost control at all times 
• Ensure readiness and cleanliness in and around all beverage related areas during the shift thereby maintaining the standard of the hotel/resort 
• Liaise with the restaurant staff to ensure service is prompt and timely. 
• Constantly maintain a log of all beverages, alcohol and wines utilized and wastage, breakage/expirations of the same in order to accurately and consistently maintain the daily stock requirements at the bar and during week/month stock taking procedures 
• Should be alert to anticipate the customers needs and be able to serve the guests with the knowledge and professionalism thereby providing good customer service. Resolve all minor complaints related to drinks served or bar activities 
• At the end of the shift ensure to re-stock bar shelves, clear and clean the area, empty trash containers and lock up all displayed shelves, liquor cabinets and refrigerator cabinets and conduct end of shift inventory. 
• Keep the Supervisor informed of all activities on the shift. 
• Responsible for the entire store requisition (food, beverage and general. 
• Responsible for the cleanliness of all materials and equipment within his working area. 
• Co-ordinate with the Restaurant/Kitchen staff, Field Guides and Guest Relations Co-ordinators for the guest requirements thereby providing a seamless service between departments and the guests. 
• Perform other duties and assignments as directed by the immediate Superior / Head of Department from time to time. 

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
At Least 1 year experience in the same position in the hospitality industry 
NTC Level 3 
Food Handler's Certificate
