Adecco is an International HR and Consultancy firm. Our client, a Freeport Procurement Company, is looking for an Accountant.

 

Our client, a Freeport Procurement Company, is looking for an Accountant.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the general accounting function including preparing journal entries, maintaining balance sheet schedules and ledgers and account and bank reconciliations. Assisting with monthly closings and account analysis and supporting the senior accountant in carrying out the responsibilities of the accounting department.

Main responsibilities

  • Prepare journal entries
  • Complete general ledger operations/Full Accounting Cycle
  • Monthly closings and preparation of monthly management accounts in timely manner
  • Reconcile and maintain balance sheet accounts
  • Draw up monthly financial reports and supporting schedules
  • Analytical review of accounts as requested
  • Assist with year-end closings
  • Administer accounts receivable and accounts payable
  • Prepare tax computations and returns
  • Assist in preparing budgets and forecasts
  • Monitor and resolve bank issues including fee anomalies and check differences
  • Assist with payroll administration
  • Account/bank reconciliations
  • Review and process expense reports
  • Assist with preparation of audit files and coordination of the audit process
  • Assist with implementing and maintaining internal financial controls and procedures
  • Perform any other cognate duties as assigned by the management
  • Liaise with internal departments to promote clear channels of communication and working relationships
  • Ensure that all expenses are processed on a timely basis

Qualification:

  • ACCA Level 1 & Level 2 (Partly) or equivalent qualification
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and practices
  • 3 years of experience in a related position
  • Knowledge of financial reporting, IFRS and IAS Standards
  • Knowledge of Solis Accounting Package is a plus

  • Excellent communication skills in English and French
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure
  • Team player and also ability to work proactively
  • Friendly with MS Office tools
  • Excel intermediary user
  • Experience using Pivot Table, VLookup and SUMIFs is a must
