Accountant

The successful candidates will be responsible for a portfolio of companies and provide monthly financial and operational report to Management. Salary range offered: MUR 45,000 - 55,000 depending on qualifications and experience.

1)    Financial Processing

a)    General Ledger Maintenance

• Process all journals to the correct account codes and cost centres

b)    Creditor Management

• Ensuring all invoices are captured correctly by the cost accountant in the Accounts Payable module and maintain control of documents.
• Ensuring all creditors invoices are properly authorized by HOD.
• Prepare creditors reconciliations prepared before payment is issued.
• Request supplier invoices on a monthly basis.

c)     Debtor Management

• Process all customer invoices in SAGE.
• Chasing debtors for payments.

d)    Month end reporting

•  Prepare month end accounts for a portfolio of companies.
•  Agree inter co balances.
•  Load month end accounts into Hyperion financial management.

e)    Forecast and budgeting

•  Prepare budgets/forecast bi-annually.
• Agree inter co balances.

f)      Provide analysis/breakdown on an ad-hoc basis to head office

2)    Year End Audit and Year End Reporting

a)    Assist in resolving any audit queries thoroughly and timeously.

b)    Prepare the AFS for the respective companies that you’ll be in charge of.

c)     Assist in preparing valuation of investment and impairment assessment.

d)    Coordinate filing of tax returns and financial summaries

Profile:

a)    ACCA qualified or in the process of being qualified

b)    At least 3 years' professional experience in an accounting / audit firm

c)     Good planning, organisational & analytical skills 

d)    High level of computer literacy with Advanced Spreadsheet & modelling skills 

e)    Ability to adapt quickly to changes in direction 

f)      Strong interpersonal, collaboration and communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation)

g)    Ability to travel overseas
