The Head Storekeeper is responsible for supervising and coordinating all store operations, ensuring effective stock control, accurate record-keeping, and smooth distribution of goods.
- Leadership & Supervision
- Supervise and coordinate the work of storekeepers and assistants.
- Allocate tasks, monitor performance, and ensure adherence to procedures.
- Provide training and guidance to store staff.
- Inventory & Stock Control
- Ensure proper receipt, inspection, storage, and issuing of goods.
- Maintain accurate inventory records (manual and digital).
- Conduct periodic stock counts and ensure reconciliation with accounting records.
- Implement systems to minimize stock losses, expiry, or damages.
- Reporting & Coordination
- Prepare and submit detailed stock reports (daily/weekly/monthly) to the MD.
- Liaise with procurement and finance departments for stock forecasting and cost control.
- Highlight shortages, variances, or risks to management promptly.
- Compliance & Safety
- Ensure the storeroom is organized, clean, and secure.
- Enforce health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and the Workers’ Rights Act 2019.
- Other Duties
- Assist in procurement planning and supplier coordination.
- Support audits and inspections.
- Perform any other related duties as assigned by the MD.
