Reporting to the CEO, the selected candidate will be responsible for providing expert legal guidance to ensure compliance, mitigate risks, and protect C-Care’s interests, supporting HR, Operations, Finance, and clinical teams with practical legal solutions.

 

What you will be doing:

  • Provide legal advice on corporate, commercial, healthcare, employment, and operational matters.
  • Interpret laws, regulations, and statutory requirements applicable to healthcare and corporate business.
  • Support HR on employee relations issues including disciplinary cases, terminations, and contractual interpretation.
  • Draft, review, and update legal, contract management, and data protection policies in alignment with regulatory, CHKS, and ISO standards.
  • Ensure compliance with data protection laws, licensing obligations, and healthcare regulatory frameworks.
  • Draft, review, negotiate, and approve contracts including service agreements, vendor contracts, MOUs, NDAs and leasing arrangements.
  • Maintain a structured contract repository and ensure timely renewal and monitoring of agreements.
  • Advise business units on contractual risks, obligations, and mitigation strategies
  • Manage and oversee litigation matters in collaboration with external law firms.
  • Prepare legal documents, briefs, responses, and regulatory submissions for court matters.
  • Advise management on dispute resolution approaches to minimise exposure and protect organisational interests.
  • Support corporate governance activities including Board documentation, compliance monitoring, and statutory obligations.
  • Conduct legal risk assessments and advise on potential areas of exposure.
  • Participate in internal audits, compliance reviews, and risk committee meetings
  • Oversee company secretarial duties such as maintaining statutory registers and ensuring Companies Act compliance.
  • Review and support corporate transactions including mergers, acquisitions, partnerships, and lease agreements.
  • Support regulatory submissions and licensing requirements for medical and healthcare services
  • Deliver legal awareness and compliance training to HR, department heads, and frontline teams (e.g., data protection, contract management, medical liability).
  • Support the development and updating of SOPs/manuals related to legal, compliance, and governance processes.

What are we looking for:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LLB); Master’s in Law or relevant field is an advantage.
  • Attorney-at-Law or Barrister qualification with a valid practising certificate.
  • Minimum 8–10 years’ experience in corporate, commercial, or healthcare legal practice.
  • Proven experience in regulatory compliance, litigation management, and contract negotiation.
  • Experience engaging with regulatory bodies and managing external legal counsel.
  • Strong understanding of employment law, corporate governance, and data protection requirements.
  • Skilled in contract drafting, legal research, and risk assessment.
  • High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills across HR, Operations, Finance, and Senior Leadership.
  • Detail-oriented with sound judgement and strong risk awareness.
