Shanti Maurice Resort & Spa a 5 star International Hotel is seeking for a Part time Health & Safety Officer. The Health and Safety Officer offers expert knowledge and skills in order to generate and promote a positive health and safety culture at the hotel.

• To develop, implement and monitor Occupational Health and Safety policy, programs and procedures.
• To assist in complying with current Health and Safety legislation and/or regulations with the objectives of ensuring that all reasonable and proper measures are taken to protect the safety and health of workers and staff.
• Replenishment of First Aid items in all kits across the resort.
• To establish specific training programs in areas of safety, including first aid, accident prevention and investigation and other matters related to implementing safety procedures.
• To increase health and safety awareness at all levels within organization.
• To investigate and report on all serious/critical personal injury accidents occurring to workers.
• To act as liaison with all the related governmental bodies and regulating agencies.
• To receive reports from and respond to orders issued by Department of Labor inspection.
• Inspect sites and carry out health and safety risk assessments
• Identify corrective and preventative actions and report to management
• Develop systems and liaise with all departments to ensure all employees comply with all relevant safety requirements
• Identify safety training needs, organize and co-ordinate safety training courses and prepare training material where appropriate
• Carry out health and safety committees on a monthly basis
• Develop, implement and maintain an effective program and ensure compliance to satisfy the requirements of local legislation e.g. OSHA
• Ensure Health and Safety , Fire Safety and First Aid equipment availability
• To assume other duties as may be assigned.
