Responsible for a quick and prompt service to the guest with a happy attitude and up to the high standards. To ensure that guests needs and requirements are met and even exceeded.

 

PERSON SPECIFICATIONS

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  1. Minimum SC
  2. NC3 Food and Beverages from Hotel School of Mauritius
  3. At least 2 years experience in same position in the Hotel sector
  4. Have a good command both in English and French, written and spoken. A third language will be a definite advantage
  5. A valid Certificate of Character

JOB SPECIFICATIONS
  1. To be polite, courteous and efficient in dealing with the guests needs.
  2. To understand the need for good service.
  3. To ensure a good service standard.
  4. Set up the station to the correct standard before service.
  5. Ensure the restaurant is clean and tidy at all times.
  6. To help with minor guest complaints and to ensure the supervisor is informed of all complaints and good comments.
  7. To be punctual and set an example in uniform standards and hygiene at all times.
  8. Participate in all training sessions
  9. Report any health and safety matters.
  10. Maintain a good working environment with colleagues and the kitchen.
  11. To consolidate the team spirit.
  12. To understand the guests needs through body language.
  13. To give a good service and be able to upsell at every occasion.
  14. Relay your own ideas and suggestions to the Manager.
  15. Show communication skills with your guests.
  16. Regularly converse with your guests.
  17. To know all information about the hotel and the island.
  18. Keep a tight control of your station by walking around with your eyes open wide.
  19. To offer condiments of the correct dish and see that all items reach the table.
  20. Ensure that the bill goes to the table and that it returns to the cashier with the correct payment made.
  21. To give back the correct and exact change to the guest.
  22. Make sure that we have sufficient Mise en Place for breakfast, etc.
  23. To read events order and carry the instructions in setting-up.
  24. To smile and make all our guests feel welcome and at ease.
  25. To ensure that all security measures are followed.
  26. To follow the standard for answering the phone.
  27. To have knowledge of, and to use, selling techniques to ensure highest possible revenue from guests.
  28. Report any repair and maintenance matters needed at the Restaurant.
  29. Ensure efficient recording, collecting and charging of all consumption within the Restaurant during your shift and cash-up after each service period.
  30. Any other duties assigned by your superior from time to time.
