Tourist Guide

Myjob is looking for a tourist guide for one of his client that offers authentic food tours to discover the island. They are looking for a charismatic and sociable person to host their visitors and to passionately lead them through culturally immersive experience.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Welcome and accompany tourist groups as they travel regions of the island to visit various venues.
• Offer informative tours at each venue in a friendly, passionate and enthusiastic manner.
• Demonstrate leadership skills, and manage health and safety in a tour context.
• Provide comprehensive answers to potentially challenging questions about the different venues visited, as well as Mauritius, its culture and its history.
• Work with our partners at each venue to create the best experience for our visitors.
• Maintain the vehicle clean and in good condition.

Time: Monday - Sunday, 45hours per week

CANDIDATE PROFILE:

• HSC, BAC, or equivalent school leaving qualification.
• NC3 from a Hotel School will be an advantage
• 2 years experience working in the tourism sector, in direct contact with clients.
• Excellent knowledge of Mauritius, its culture, and its history.
• Ability to present information in interesting ways.
• Good memory for facts, figures and events.
• Fluent in English, French and Creole – excellent elocution.
