To implement and monitor safety & health policies and procedures and advise management and operations on legal issues with regards to occupational safety and health.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop, implement and monitor safety & health policies and procedures
- Set up and organise regular safety & health committees as per legal provisions
- Design and implement appropriate safety & health training programmes
- Carry out regular occupational safety & health audits and conduct relevant risk assessments
- Organise appropriate occupational safety & health programmes
- Conduct safety induction training for all new recruits
- Inspect regularly all places and sites of work and record findings
- Recommend necessary actions or procedural changes to correct areas not in compliance with safety & health regulations
- Investigate occupational accidents and submit reports with remedial actions
EXPERIENCE
- Diploma or Degree in Occupational Safety & Health from a recognised tertiary institution
- At least 2 years of proven experience preferably gained in engineering or construction environment
OTHER REQUISITES
- Fully conversant with safety, health, & environmental legislations
- Familiar with OHSAS / ISO standards
- Holder of a valid and clean driving license
- Conversant with MS Office applications
- Good communication and presentation skills
