Main Requirements:

  • Performs the capacity planning required to create and maintain the databases.
  • Performs ongoing tuning of the database instances.
  • Install new versions of the RDBMS and its patches.
  • Plans and implements backup and recovery of the database.
  • Controls migrations of programs, database changes, reference data changes and menu changes through the development life cycle.
  • Implements and enforces security on all databases.
  • Performs database re-organization as required to assist performance and ensure maximum up-time (high availability) of the database.
  • Puts standards in place to ensure that all application design and code is produced with proper integrity, security and performance.
  • Performs reviews on the design and code frequently to ensure the site standards are being adhered to.
  • Enforces and maintains database constraints to ensure integrity of the database.
  • Administers all database schema objects, including tables, clusters, indexes, views, sequences, packages and procedures.
  • Assists with impact analysis of any changes made to the database objects.
  • Troubleshoots with  problems regarding the databases, applications and development tools.
  • Performs physical database design.
  • Manual Database performance monitoring.
  • Identifying and tuning high load SQL.
  • Optimizing Data Access paths.
  • Resolving database performance problems.
  • Excellent communication skills in both English and French.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to integrate an existing team.

 

Academic Qualification:

 

Bachelor in Information Technology/ Computer Science, or any related degree courses.

 

Working Experience:

 

Above 10 years of relevant working experience as Database Administrator.
