Adecco is an International HR and Consultancy firm. Our client, a key player in the hospitality sector, is looking for a Safety and Health Manager.
Reporting to the Project and Operations Manager the successful candidate will be responsible for:
Main Responsibilities:
- To ensure compliance with local and international laws, certificates and regulations
- To exercise adequate supervision to ensure the effective implementation of arrangements made, and preventive measures taken.
- To carry out regular inspections, identify risks to safety & health, and advise in writing on practicable measures to be implemented to minimize any risk in any process and record findings in a risk register.
- To assist Management to design and implement emergency plan for foreseeable incidents that might include hotel fire, cyclones, tsunami, epidemic
- To assist Management in adopting the most efficient costs strategic approach
- To advise on procurement of equipment or new installation
- To draft and ensure implementation of best practices
- To implement Management Systems leading towards a certification.
- Follow up with the fire consultant on fire safety program to meet the requirements of the Occupational Safety and Health Act 2005 and keep proper records thereof.
- To assist Management in adhering to best food hygiene practices – HACCP
- To liaise with insurance with regards to claims pertaining to safety, health and food concerning employees and guests
Qualifications:
- Diploma in Safety and Health from a recognized institution as per OSHA 2005. A degree will be advantageous
- Registered MQA Trainer in the field of Occupational Safety and Health
- 5 years’ experience in the field of Occupational Safety and Health
- Experience in the hotel sector is not mandatory but will be an advantage
- Experience in food hygiene and HACCP Implementation (or other food standards)
Candidate Profile:
- To be conversant with the Food Act 1998, HACCP principles and Tour Operators guidelines
- To assist the Safety and Health Officer in any related food issues and give advice.
- Hands on person with good follow ups
- Computer literate
- Good presentation skills and report writing both in French and English.
- Self-motivated and initiator
- Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines
