The Maintenance Officer will be a member of the Maintenance Team responsible for the day to day maintenance of Mechanical, Electrical and Public area systems at the mall or on any site.

 

Job Purpose: The Maintenance Technician will be a member of the Maintenance Team responsible for the day to day maintenance of Mechanical, Electrical and Public area systems at the mall or on any site.

Systems under the team’s responsibility include (but are not limited to) Electrical Distribution System (Low Voltage), Domestic water supply, Fire Fighting and alarm systems, Sewerage treatment plant, lifting stations, Air Conditioning Units.

Main Duties:

 

  • Maintains in serviceable conditions systems by executing daily, weekly and monthly checklists as per recommendations, investigating related issues; conducting tests; resolving problems.

  • Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.

  • Establishes service by studying system requirements; preparing orders for approval, following approved orders until delivery; completing installation; performing acceptance tests and ensures follow up on payment to contractors

  • Monitors systems, conducting and/or ordering test as and when required and ensure standards set are met.

  • Provide feedback to the Operations Manager with respect to examining issues; identifying solutions; suggesting improved methods and techniques; recommending system improvements.

  • Executes scheduled works completing forms, reports, logs, and records on actions as per standard operating procedures and processes.

  • Updates job knowledge by participating in informal training of other technicians, offering support to Centre Management Team and Management

  • Accomplishes operations and organization mission by completing related results as needed

  • Maintains Management confidence by keeping service information confidential.

  • Daily checks of the plants and systems, daily reporting, and implementation of technical solutions.

  • Follow up with contractors from start of job to completion

  • Ensures service level agreements are being respected by contractors and feedback on same to the operation Manager

  • Follow up on tenants to ensure they are adhering to their lease agreements ( i.e. House rules are being respected)

  • Assist in Budget preparation and ensure it is followed

  • Conduct general upkeep procedures (e.g. irrigation) and other tasks as assigned (painting, minor carpentry etc.).

  • Perform Manual repairs when necessary (Fix locks, repair broken pipes, fixing taps etc

 


Qualification, Skills and Experiences: 

 

 

  • National Certificate Level 3 / NTC 3 Electrical with or without NTC 3 Plumbing or equivalent

  • Prior experience of 3 years and proven track record as Maintenance Officer would be an advantage.

  • Be fluent in English and French

  • Able to work under pressure, odd hours and meet deadlines

  • Computer literate ( including excel, words, outlook) and abilitiy to learn new building Management software as well as remote metering softwares

  • Be organized, dynamic, self-motivated and good team player

  • Basic understanding of HVAC systems

  • Working knowledge of tools, common appliances and devices

  • Manual dexterity and problem –solving skills
