Ensure confidentiality, integrity, security and availability of sensitive and critical IT information assets and keep pace with evolution in the IT security space.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead efforts to reach and maintain compliance to information security related certifications sought by the organisation;
- Actively implement information security tasks/technology to reach/maintain compliances to certification sought by the organisation;
- Conduct periodic assessments and reviews of the information security implementations, processes, roles and responsibilities within the organisation;
- Proactively review and evaluate any organisational changes (facilities, procedural, technology, vendor/client relationships and access) for significant risk on information security for the group;
- Review and approve users’ physical and logical access to premises and information security assets;
- Assist the Head of IS regarding assignments given;
- Handle all the operational aspects of Information security internally;
- Keep up with the risks and solutions in the Information Security space, as applicable specifically within technologies adopted by the group;
- Create security awareness among users and relevant stakeholders;
Security operations and monitoring
- Review system, database and network logs
- Ensure proper functioning of the security tools
- Verify Antivirus/DLP updates and logs
- Log investigation and prepare reports
- Help in PC/Laptop checks and patch deployment
- Help for audits evidence gathering and policy review
- Provide security application support
- Check for new patches/dates released
- Follow up with patch deployments
- Compliance check on servers
- Regular check to ensure all machine report to Log server & anti-malware servers
- Research on security issues
- Try out latest security/forensic tools
- Help to maintain security standards & best practices in the group’s systems and network environment
Qualifications
- Degree in Information Technology
- Certification earned in the field of information security like:
- Certified Information Security Professional (CISSP)
- Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)
Experience
- 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role
Technical Skills
- Operating systems: Windows XP and later, UNIX, AIX, Linux.
- Databases: Oracle 10g or higher and MSSQL Server
- Network device configurations: Cisco or equivalent
- Experience and proficient knowledge of information security technologies like: Access Control, Firewalls, DES encryption, Digital Certificates, SSL, VPN, IPsec, TCP/IP, DNS and web security architecture.
