The role of the IT Trainee is to Help our IT helpdesk reducing their workload by taking ownership of their administrative and redundant tasks.

 

  • Respond promptly to incoming requests and reports from the client via tickets, phone or email

  • Open tracking tickets for Service Requests, Incidents and Problems

  • Provide first response to customer interaction

  • Undertake an initial assessment of incoming events, answer and resolve them as 1st level support where applicable or assign tickets to the appropriate person or team.

  • Ensure follow up of tickets, interact with various teams to make sure all deadlines are met.

  • Assist the IT department with administrative tasks.

  • Responsible for timely handling of requests for ‘Onboarding ’ and ‘Offboarding’ of users

  • Daily verification of backup

  • Assist in the documentation of processes, procedures, technical specifications and work instructions as per established standards.

  • Install, configure and test new workstations, peripheral equipment and software.

  • Provide basic support, preventive maintenance and follow up of IT equipment.

  • Inventory Follow up and reconciliation

  • Follow up of software licences
