Reporting to the Hotel General Manager and being part of the Executive Committee, the Human Resources Manager is responsible for directing and administering the Human Resources functions.

 

Position Overview

Reporting to the Hotel General Manager and being part of the Executive Committee, the Human Resources Manager is responsible for directing and administering the Human Resources functions, such as but not limited to, Talent Management, Learning & Development, Employee Relations, Career Development, Reward Management, Succession Planning, Payroll and Benefits Management, Occupational Health & Safety,  Labour Relations and Compliance , while supporting the hotel’s strategies to continuously deliver outstanding guest service and performance and achieving financial profitability.

Oversee and manage the Human Resources and Learning & Development teams.

 

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement Human Resources objectives in line with the organisational strategies as well as in line with Accor/Sofitel Group ‘Culture & Talent’ ambitions, shared cross training, including training needs assessment.
  • Reinforce the ‘Learn Local Think Global’ philosophy.
  • Direct and manage succession planning, workforce development, key employee retention, career development, and change/transformation management.
  • Direct the process of organisational planning, job design, and resources forecasting throughout the company, in the fast pace environment, and make recommendations to executive management.
  • Lead competitive pay and benefit market research to establish best pay practices and maintain the effectiveness of the company’s salary and benefit structure, pay policies, maintain employee retention and oversee the variable pay systems within the company including bonuses and raises.
  • Ensure equal opportunity employment programs and lead the recruitment and selection process, promoting internal career development and international mobility opportunities, participating in student fairs and job fairs and promoting the company as a preferred employer, while promoting
  • Comply with local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, anticipating legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements and advising management on needed actions.
  • Determine and apply employee relations practices necessary to establish a positive employer-employee relationship and promote a high level of employee morale, motivation, satisfaction and engagement.
  • Manage and maintain employee communication and feedback through company/departmental meetings, employee satisfaction surveys, newsletters, employee focus groups, one-to-one meetings, YAMMER.
  • Lead the implementation of company occupational safety and health programs, Planet 21, WATCH (Child Protection).
  • Participate in the Digital Plan implementation process.
  • Manage the committees including the Welfare, Corporate Social Responsibility, Occupational Health and Safety, Planet 21 committees.
  • Drive recognition/rewarding programs and lead welfare and fun-at-work activities.
  • Be an inspiration to all hotel staff to achieve luxury levels of performance.
  • Interact in a positive way with all team members to ensure a luxury guest experience.
  • Be an example of the Accor/Sofitel Values, brand standards, and a champion of grooming and appearance guidelines at all times

Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor Degree in Human Resources Management / Business Management or any related/equivalent qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the post of Human Resources Manager, preferably in the hospitality industry
  • collaborators at all levels
  • Ability to train and develop team members
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent computer skills (MS Office, Sicorax Payroll/HR)
