The Head of HR will provide HR support and internal consulting to the CEO Emtel on HR Matters and to various functions.

 

PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

The Head of HR will provide HR support and internal consulting to the CEO Emtel on HR Matters and to various functions. He/she will guide, develop and implement a blend of strategic and tactical HR initiatives focused on achieving business objectives. He/she will provide expertise, coaching and guidance on organizational design and development, change management, recruitment and selection, performance management, talent development, succession planning, employee relations and training.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Define leadership development needs and contribute to solutions to improve the capability of managers to lead and manage their employees to achieve business goals.
  • Review and implement HR policies, procedures and processes which will help create a performance driven organization.
  • Ensure compliance to all Statutory Laws and Regulations.
  • Help design an efficient organization structure which will align with the business strategy
  • Define together with the Line Managers, productivity measurement at all levels and develop key KPIs to measure and enhance productivity.
  • Drive employee engagement both formally and informally and work with the CEO and the leadership team to manage change so that this does not create employee disengagement.
  • Evolve Employee welfare and Engagement programs in consultation with the CEO and Leadership Team to enhance engagement.
  • Ensure that the work environment is best in class with regular visits to work areas across the organisation.
  • Develop and implement a job levelling framework for the company
  • Collaborate with CJ Corporate HR for delivery of services to client businesses.
  • Lead the HR Team by establishing clear objectives, defining development plans and providing coaching for the team.
  • Coach Managers and employees on performance management including the development of individual development plans, performance improvement plans and all aspects of progressive discipline and documentation.
  • Lead succession planning activities in order to ensure that a pipeline of high potential employees are identified and developed to meet future organization needs.
  • Implement an onboarding process and work with the Line Managers to facilitate effective on-boarding of new employees.
  • Define manpower planning tools and participates in organizational change decision-making.
  • Define Monitor effectiveness of recruitment and retention programs for relevant functions.
  • Ensure the organization is in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Partner with CJ Corporate HR to develop, implement, and evaluate HR policies and programs and to implement Group HR initiatives.
  • Responsible for the yearly performance review and salary review of all direct report employees.
  • Analyze employee/employment data for business decision-making including but not limited to cost rationalization, staffing levels/deployment, turnover, recruitment and compensation.
  • Investigate and resolve employee relations problems. Anticipate problems whenever possible, and develop, recommend and initiate appropriate steps for resolution.
  • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource or a Business discipline. Master’s Degree in Human Resource or MBA would constitute an advantage.

EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • 8-10 years of progressively more responsible HR assignments with at least 5 years in a management role and experience of planning 3-5 year HR road maps in line with business strategies.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization.
  • Must have excellent communication, influencing, negotiation and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of business basics – familiarity with the technology sector would constitute an advantage.
  • Demonstrated problem analysis and solution development skills.
  • Knowledge of employment law, the labor market and HR best practices
