Group Accountant

We are looking for a Group Accountant for one of our Clients.

RESPONSABILITES

• To assist, coach and guide the finance staff of the groupBuild and maintain positive morale within the department;
• To ensure the completeness, accuracy and validity of accounting records;
• To manage and review the monthly management accounts so that they give a fair and accurate view of the company performance and financial position;
• To ensure that the budgets are ready on time for management to review;
• To assist in the preparation of board papers;
• To provide management with financial reports as per set deadlines. Ensure that the financial reports are in compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards and relevant legislation;
• To provide auditors with documentary evidence; accounting schedules and relevant information to allow them to conduct the audit efficiently;
• To ensure that all monthly reconciliations are done prior to month end reporting;
• To ensure compliance with processes and deemed procedures, and recommending procedures when needed;
• To ensure that procedures for purchases are followed and in line with the budget;
• To ensure that approval for payment is obtained from the responsible officer before authorising a payment and ensure timeliness for settlement of suppliers invoices ;
• To ensure monthly physical stocktaking are carried out, reconciliation made with accounting records and to investigate discrepancies;
• To ensure that cash expenditures are backed by documentary evidence and daily receipts are banked by the next day;
• To ensure that procedures are in place in respect of cash collection to eliminate fraud and tempering, this should include reporting and surprise check.
• To ensure that weekly cash flow projections are up to date, maintain borrowing (loans, trade finance and finance leases)  schedules of all the companies of the group; to ensure compliance with loan covenants;
• Any cognate duties within the attribution of a professional accountant.

PROFILE

• Fully qualified accountant
• 15 years in accounting with 3 years at group accountant level.
• Well versed in accounting software, experience in implementation would be an advantage.
