Food Safety Coordinator

The responsibility of the Food Safety Coordinator is to ensure that all regulatory guidelines and requirements regarding food safety are followed and maintained. He/she has to make sure that team members handle, process and package food according to food standards.

• Diploma or BSC in Food Science Technology
• Ready to work odd hours, Sundays, Public Holidays and others
• Ensure that the hotel is following Food Regulations guidelines relevant to the food industry & Food Act 1998.
• Work in close collaboration with the Health & Safety Officer.
• Comply with the hotel’s rules and regulations with regards to HACCP.
• Ensure compliance to quality and food safety standards and that customer requirements and expectations are met.
• Ensure adherence to all quality management systems and enforce internal hygiene quality protocols by close supervision of cleaning.
• Check food temperature at regular intervals for food at the buffet both hot and cold using temperature probe and laser.
• Wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and ensure same is being respected in all concerned outlets.
• Facilitate investigation in food hazard cases and follow up in the scope of customer complaint management.
• Communicate internally any information concerning food safety and related matters.
• Support routine activities with regards to product related documents and certificates.
• Ensure that all Staff have a valid Food Handlers Certificate and do regular follow up on same so that we are in conformity with the requirement of the authority.
