The Hostess is required to greet the arriving guests, welcome them into the establishment and seat them. Answer telephone, take reservations and manage the efficient and timely seating of our guests to a table that best serves their wishes.

 

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  1. The hostess is a personal representation of the service and overall hospitality of the staff of the restaurant. While guests are waiting to be seated or waiting for take-out orders to be ready, it is the job of the hostess to ensure that the guests are made comfortable and kept informed of the status of their orders or wait times.
  2. The responsibilities of the hostess include monitoring the open dining sections of the restaurant for empty and cleaned tables, estimating wait times for guests, monitoring the guest waiting list, and ensuring that the needs of the guests are met while they are waiting. The hostess is responsible for answering the telephone, booking reservations and moving tables together to accommodate large parties.
  3. Provide guests with estimated waiting time, always maintaining a professional, courteous attitude when confronted with hostile, impatient guests.
  4. Accommodate special seating requests for guests whenever possible.
  5. Seat guests based on guest preferences and balancing of customer flow in service stations.
  6. Upon seating, offer guests a menu and inform them of their server’s name. Inspect table for proper presentation and completeness.
  7. Relay messages to servers and bus-persons as needed.
  8. Thanks guests as they leave and invite them to return. Relay guest comments or suggestions to the manager on duty.
  9. Perform any other cognate duties as may be requested  from time to time
Person Specifications:
  1. Pleasant and outgoing personality and always smiling
  2. Candidate should be fluent in both English and French.  A third language will be a definite advantage.
  3. Candidate should be computer literate and well-versed with Microsoft Word and Excel.
  4. Candidate should be able to wear Saree and be confortable in same.
  5. Minimum qualifications required: SC/HSC
