Performs preparation work for food items for the various outlets and actively participates in all food production areas of the kitchen.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performs all the preparation work for soups, sauces, salads.
- Prepares food items as per instructions
- Prepares basic culinary items as per standard recipes
- Supplies assigned workstation with all needed products and culinary equipment, for prompt production.
- Moves supplies and equipment as and when required.
- Verifies that all equipment in the kitchen is clean and in proper working order and reports any equipment in need of repair to Chef de Partie/Demi Chef de Partie.
- Performs general cleaning tasks, using hotel cleaning products, as assigned by superior.
- Ascertains that floors are dry and clean at all times to avoid slip/fall accidents.
- Informs co-workers and stewards of any area to be cleaned.
- Stores all food in refrigerated boxes with covers, labels and dates, using the proper containers to protect against waste and spoilage.
Candidate’s Profile:
- At least 2 years’ experience in the kitchen
- Holder of an NTC3 in food production
- Holder of a valid foodhandler certificate
- Holder of a clean Morality Certificate
