Grewals (Mauritius) Limited is looking for an Accounts Officer with the purpose of providing a comprehensive accounting and administrative support to its Finance department.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Maintains financial and statistical records and files up-to-date including general and subsidiary ledgers and journals.
  • Processes related financial data including posting debits and credits; recording weekly receipts and balances with computer printout; examining and recording financial transactions; allocating charges to proper departmental/company accounts.
  • Prepares, examines, and analyses accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.
  • Prepares requisitions and general vouchers.
  • Compiles financial statements and prepares periodic reports.
  • Interfaces with other departments so as to obtain information to verify and/or support financial records and to answer to queries.

Profile of successful applicants:

  1. Higher School Certificate and partly ACCA qualified.
  2. 2-3 years practical experience in a Finance or Accounting sector.
  3. Computer literate with ability to learn new software applications.
  4. Dynamic, hard working, pro-active and pleasant personality
  5. Ability to work under pressure and to effectively handle multiple priorities, organise workload and meet deadlines.
  6. Able to work both independently as well as a member of a team.
  7. Any equivalent combination of education and experience.
