RESPONSIBILITIES
ï± To assist, coach and guide the supervisors and finance staff (including the cashiers and store staff) of the group as and when required;
ï± To ensure the completeness, accuracy and validity of accounting records;
ï± To assist the Group Finance Manager in reviewing the management accounts, budgets, cash flows or any reports prepared by the supervisors;
ï± To ensure that the management accounts (including costs and profit centres), quarterly financial statements and annual financial statements comply with the Companies Acts, International Financial Reporting Standards and are prepared on a timely basis;
ï± To assist the Group Finance Manager during the audit or any review by third parties;
ï± To liaise with the supervisors so as to ensure the reconciliation of all inter-company balances and to prepare monthly consolidation management accounts;
ï± To review all returns to be submitted to the authorities and ensure compliance accordingly;
ï± To assist the Group Finance Manager in the fixed assets and working capital management (stock, debtors and treasury);
ï± To ensure procedures for purchases are followed and in line with the budget, approval for payment is obtained from the responsible officer before authorising a payment and ensure timeliness for settlement of suppliers invoices ;
ï± To ensure monthly physical stocktaking are carried out, reconciliation made with accounting records and investigate into any discrepancies;
ï± To ensure that procedures are followed for receipts and daily receipts are banked the following working day;
ï± To ensure petty cash disbursements are backed by supporting documents and monthly petty cash report are prepared and accounted for;
ï± To monitor the cash flow, borrowing (loans, trade finance and finance leases) of all the companies of the group;
ï± To ensure that internal procedures are being followed and assist the Group Finance Manager in assessing and recommending procedures when needed;
ï± To liaise with the IT department and suppliers to solve problems incurred with the accounting software, billing software and back up;
